Other Notes: Scar Fang’s Artifacts are Reason, a moonsilver dire lance, and a moonsilver reinforced breastplate. His Contacts consist mostly of barbarians and other Lunars, while his Face represents his reputation within the Martial Arts world.
He is known by many names: the Fang That Rends the Heavens, The Scar Across Shattered Stars, He Who Hunts the Watchers – though most among the Silver Pact simply refer to him as Scar Fang, Full Moon Chosen of Luna.
He has never made known his true name preference, for he barely speaks, favoring instead the languages of fist and blade. There is no one alive who can recall ever seeing him out of his beastform, that of a great white tiger, whose fur is often stained with dried blood – never his own.
He wears massive spiked moonsilver armor and his entire lower jaw has been replaced and reconstructed with moonsilver. Hushed rumors among the Silver Pact say that his original jaw was ripped off in a long and terrible fight against a Sidereal. There is a deep, jagged scar across the right side of his face and only a milky white pupil stares sightlessly form what remains of the destroyed eye socket.
Though he seems to have allegiances to both the Swords of Luna and the Seneschals of the Sun Kings, he is first and foremost a loner that is known to disappear for decades perusing personal matters and vendettas. He is a master of the White Reaper style of martial arts.
When Shimmering Mirage exalted, he was the only Lunar around with any practical combat skill. Since the Usurpation, even the most studious of the No Moons were encouraged to learn at least basic defensive skills, and Mirage was expected to do the same. The Priests of Luna who inscribed Mirage with the sacred moonsilver tattoos entreated him to teach her what he knew, uncertain that they could pass on their own meager knowledge of combat arts.
His teaching methods were as brutal and harsh as he was. Rather than instruct just how to simply defend herself with a weapon he taught what he knew best, which was White Reaper martial arts.
The lessons were unforgiving and punishing of any small error, often ending with Mirage sprawled on the ground in a bloody and bruised heap, sometimes even nursing a broken bone or two. She was a small, scrappy thing with nowhere near her Full Moon mentor’s strength, but she did possess impressive enough endurance and tenacity for him to continue his teachings and she never backed down from any challenge he offered. Finally, one day he spoke to her for the first time, grunting that she was slightly less of an embarrassment than when she first started and her initial lessons were completed. She treasures those words and carries them in her heart.
Scar Fang Exalted near the closing days of the Shogunate and cut his teeth on the Fair Folk invasion. He always suspected that the Solars could have solved the Contagion with ease, and found his sympathies tending naturally toward the Seneschals of the Sun Kings. Though only nominally a member of the Silver Pact (by virtue of being a tattooed Lunar), Scar Fang feels the tenets of the Winding Path are worthwhile… so long as the Solars are gone. Now that they are returning, he is fighting the urge to find his Solar mate and find out if the Silver Pact is even necessary anymore…
